Tractor Details:
In 7 months I restored a tractor that had not run in over 30 years. I started by looking over the tractor and noting what needed to be replaced. The fuel valve was stuck so I started by cleaning the valve to try to unseize it but I ended up replacing it instead. I cleaned the carburetor and replaced the gaskets in it and rebuilt the magneto by replacing every item within it. I checked the fluids in the tractor before trying to start it. We eventually had it running. However, we noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine and later discovered a connecting rod was damaged and needed to be replaced. Because I was already this far in the process, I decided to replace the piston rings, head gasket and rebuild the oil pump. After I had the tractor running good, I tore it down to prep it for painting. We sandblasted it and I applied primer and paint. I replaced the original tires with new tires. Thank you to Chevron & EH Wolf for this opportunity! I have learned so much!
