Tractor Details:
I chose to restore my 1952 Oliver 66 Diesel mainly because my family has been Oliver fans for many years. Also, the 66 was a local tractor to our community, residing on a dairy farm until it came to our farm 17 years ago. The tractor did run but had severe blow by and leaking fuel into the crank case. The sheet metal was in rough shape, along with the gauges and seat. The hood had been cut which required fabrication work. The side shields were non-existent and took a while to find a pair for the tractor. From there, we pulled the engine for a complete rebuild, injector and pump was rebuilt, engine clutch and PTO clutch. Entire tractor was media blasted and prepped for paint for a show-quality paint job. Chassis was painted then assembled to a rolling chassis. While waiting to paint sheet metal, I wired the tractor and installed the gauges. After sheet metal was painted, we prepped the tractor for final assembly and lastly added decals. After completion, I am really proud of my Oliver.
